To C. from CJ.

CJ/JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary}13/D25.2.20.

You have a letter from Vickers dated the 18th addressed to BJ. You bring it before me on the 25th.
There is no indication on it as to when it was received by the Company, and where it has been during the week.
You seem to think that the system of stamping papers with clocks has died.
Will you look into the correspondence in file and see whether this is the case.
The arrangement which I instituted was that a department, on handing over a paper to another Department was responsible for seeing that the other department attached their clock stamp to it, otherwise the department whose clock stamp last appeared on the paper was presumed to be in possession of the paper.
Please ascertain in what departments the clock stamp has died.

CJ.
