DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: "DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM" TELEPHONE: ERDINGTON 2121 (P.B.X) EXTENSION No. 237. YOUR REF: OUR REF: FGWK/B/157. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM 1332 W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY 18th September 1941. Dear Mr. Robotham, When we last came to see you at Derby we discussed certain experimental tyres which we were to send you when they were available. We now have two types available. They have been extremely difficult to get through in view of the production rush, and because of sundry production difficulties the tyres have had to be made three times before we were satisfied with the materials and construction. Now they are available it is possible that the circumstances may have altered and you may not be able to make the tests at this moment, but I am informing you so that if you still want the tyres they can be sent to you. The first lot is a pair of 6.50-16 covers with low power consumption properties. They have the normal tread pattern but special compounds and a special casing construction. The second lot is five covers 6.50-16 size with narrow treads and with improved cornering power. Six somewhat similar covers were supplied to you in August 1939. I think you intended to have these fitted to one of your cars to get impressions of road behaviour. Would you please let us know if we are to send you these tyres. They will not be charged for, but will be supplied | ||
