To "Les" DERBY Levallois Sr/VA5/ET.22.I.35 Dear Les.{Ivan A. Leslie}, Re; CHASSIS III.SK - BLACKMER You will probably remember mentioning to us that, should we be "up against it" at any time, you would upon receipt of a note or memo, be glad to give us assistance. For your information, we are rather up against it with the above car. There is a very bad body boom or drumming noise which is most disagreeable. It is most pronounced when one sits on the rear seats, but on leaning forward it is much less in evidence. We should appreciate it very much if you would kindly let us have as much information as possible concerning the best way of overcoming or reducing body booms. For your information, the above is a new car having only made a trip to the South of france and back. We are going to make sure that the exhaust system is O.K. The trouble appears to be set up by the exhaust system and in turn amplified by the bodywork, which, in our opinion, is of a design very liable to produce a boom. Kellners, the body builders are going to alter the shape of the body at the rear. The body is a "Sedanca de ville" with a long sloping back and with a concealed type luggage grid. Trusting that you are keeping fit and hoping that we shall soon have the pleasure of another visit from you, Yours sincerely, V.{VIENNA} Allen P.S. We have not seen the Countess yet! | ||
