Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} O.{Mr Oldham} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Since writing Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.11.5.37, we have had a talk over the difficulties of casting our cylinder blocks with the Foundry, and modifications are being made to the design to facilitate casting. They have also pointed out several difficulties in connection with the cylinder head casting, and these are being dealt with. Up to date, none of the cylinder iron composition we recommended from the United States appear to have been tried at Derby. As the general impression we obtained from the States was that the composition was most important of all, we do not think that this side of the matter should be neglected.
