To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn. {Mr Robinson} BATTERY BOX SUPPORT. We have now proved to our satisfaction that the Cantilever battery box support allows the battery a great deal more movement under running conditions than the continuous support. We have proved that there is no particular natural frequency of the cantilever support which enters into the subject, it is entirely a question of rigidity. We should be obliged if you would carry out a static deflection test to ascertain whether the weakness is mainly in the support or in the twisting of the frame. We can then repeat this test with the new cantilever battery box support that R. {Sir Henry Royce} has recently instructed. We feel that this will give us as satisfactory results as the rather more elaborate tests on the road. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn. {Mr Robinson} | ||
