E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} SECRET. 1160 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.18.6.37. NOISE IN WRAITH BODIES. You heard the story that we have greatly reduced the noise in the Wraith body in two stages:- (1) Without altering the existing coachwork. To do this we fitted steel floorboards and cut away the board at the back of the squab. (2) Coachwork modifications. We altered the shape at the back of the rear passengers head, and moved the squab forward 3". We took Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to Nottingham on No. 1 car on Tuesday, and whilst he thought it was passable, he said we ought to try and combine our coachwork recommendations on the Limousine body being built for the Experimental Dept., so that Sales could see whether it was worth standardising. We should like to have Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s opinion as to the best way of getting this experiment carried out. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
