The engine is suspended both fore and aft on rubber, but is connected rigidly to the frame in the lateral direction by means of flat plates bolted to suitable anchorages. The engine serves to stiffen the chassis frame in the plan view. It is also proposed to fix an anchorage to the tail end of the gearbox to triangulate the section of the frame enclosing the clutch and gearbox.

Further drawings will follow giving the remaining information required for the shape of the crankchamber arms, and other features associated with them.

The engine is detached from the frame by undoing and pushing back the bolts on the engine arms. These bolts should be accessible from a port way formed in the bottom floor of each arm. We are not sure how much of the engine foot it will be necessary to undo for the purpose of dropping the engine through the frame, or of raising it into position again, but the natural effect on the feet should be to draw away from the engine when the latter attempts to drag them endways due to the fore-shortening of the links. On the other hand it may be necessary to knock out the link bolts nearest to the engine arms so that, the feet being subjected only to the control of the rubber blocks, they can be pulled over endways to release the engine.

We have one or two ideas for adding features to facilitate the erection or change of the rubber blocks, but the scheme has been sent through in its simplest form in the first instance, until we have acquired some experience with it.
