Empress High Pressure Lubricating System Cleans and Lubricates With the usual pressure systems, after the gun is attached to the bearing, the pressure is gradually applied by turning down the plunger, resulting in a correspondingly gradual spread of the lubricant over the surface of the bearing; instead of forcing the dirt and old grit laden grease out of the bearing, the lubricant is much more likely to flow around such an obstruction seeking outlet through an old grease channel. The explosive action with which the Empress Gun forces the lubricant into the bearing allows of no opportunity for the lubricant to pass around an obstruction or to seek a worn channel; the old grease, grit, etc., is driven out before an instantaneous flooding of the bearing by a charge of the lubricant shot in under high pressure, leaving the bearing completely covered by a film of the fresh lubricant. Pressure The Empress Gun develops all necessary pressure for lubricating or cleaning; fully equalling the pressures claimed for the guns of any other system. Extremely high pressures, while desirable for cleaning or for lubricating tight or dirty bearings are rarely necessary if the bearings are in proper condition. Empress High Pressure Lubricating System The Empress High Pressure Lubricating System as used on all motor cars and trucks consists of one Empress Gun and a set of Empress Connections. The Gun Sturdy of construction, mechanically perfect and practical of design, the Empress Gun will continue to function perfectly under long and hard service. All parts are as nearly accident proof as possible; each part is well made, accurately finished and carefully assembled. Simplicity of design eliminates the parts usually a source of trouble and annoyance; no hose to break or adjustable nozzle to develop leaks through wear. The Empress Gun opens for filling at the upper or handle end, the lower end or head is made in one solid piece, eliminating the danger of leakage certain to occur in a gun with a thread-ed{J. L. Edwards} removable head. The Connections Empress Connections are made in three types: Straight, 90 degree elbow and 45 degree elbow. The straight type may be used in practically all places while the elbow types are designed for greater convenience in lubricating the less accessible bearings, etc. Operated from any position. Dust-proof. | ||
