LONDON . W.C.2 Your Reference ______________ Our Department T & R.{Sir Henry Royce} LGC/LD. Date 28th May 1937. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Experimental Department, Derby. Dear Robotham, I am obliged to you for your letter of May 19th and hope that your American visit was pleasant as well as profitable. We shall be deeply interested in your opinion on reformed "Shell" and look forward to hearing from you as soon as you can conveniently form your conclusions. Another matter of considerable importance to us and, I think, of some interest to you is that we shall be launching an entirely new range of motor oils at the beginning of next autumn which will replace our current grades altogether. We have completed a very large solvent extraction plant at Shell Haven which is intended to supply not only the U.K. but most of our other areas too. Here we are employing the latest process for making motor oils, and I should like to say that though we have waited some time to adopt solvent extraction it is only because we wanted to be sure which was the best of the various methods. Actually, we own several of the patents and during the last year or so have been studying their values in America and other countries where we have plants. Most of our development work here has been completed and we can now offer the oils we propose marketing All offers subject to acceptance by return of post unless otherwise stated | ||
