To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7370 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/M27.8.26. PHANTOM SERVO BRAKE GEAR. X.7370 X.8370 X.7420 With reference to the question of preventing the pin in the upper jaw of the balancing lever fouling the suspension link when put in the wrong way round, we have sent you N.sch. 2256 shewing how this matter is dealt with on EAC.7. and we should like a similar treatment for Phantom. On N.sch. 2249 (herewith) we have shewn how the new friction head could be arranged to deal with this point, and if it is necessary we should like you to modify the existing standard arrangement by spreading the suspension links the necessary amount.
