With reference to the above car, which we had in London for the purpose of making comparative tests from standing start to see what the effect would be in the hands of customers from traffic lights, etc. I attach copy of Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}5/KW2.7.37, from which you will see that he does not think that we have anything to fear under this heading. There is, however, a point which wants considering, and that is whether with the higher second speed, we shall run into clutch troubles due to excessive clutch slipping. Presumably on American cars with three-speed boxes, people in the ordinary way start on second from a standing start and so far as one knows they do not have this trouble. With regard to Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}'s criticism of the front suspension, I should be interested to know what has been done(and why) on this car, which makes it definitely worse than our standard.
