We issued to you yesterday memo BY/501/H.22.3.33 giving the amendments and additions to the Bensport Series I Specification, previously detailed under cover of memo BY/EB/V.R.4.3.33. Will the Drawing Office Depts. please issue the new details to the Experimental Dept. as soon as possible. We have promised the completion of the work in hand by the end/of the month, so that the 2nd. complete chassis ( built to our production supersheets) can be on the road by Easter. We should then follow up with the instructions of approved details for the 200 sets of production material. The Experimental Test Dept. will report on the following features which affect the Production Instructions: Exhaust silencer internal construction. Induction pipes balance washer. Rudge Whitworth hubs and wheels. Gudgeon pin, circlip or thrust button. Carburetter air silencer testing. Type of radiator ribbon matrix. Material and finish of radiator shutters. Radiator grille or stone guard. External finish of engine unit. Close ratio gearbox. The Design Work outstanding to complete the instructions is as follows:- Layout of exhaust system. Exhaust cut-out. Damped spring drive for clutch. Undersheet. Silencer and run of piping, Induction hot spot. Completion of floorboards. Instrument board. Side spare wheel carrier.
