P/. FROM D.L. C. to WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} MS. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M17.12.32 Y curves & cubes 20/25. FRONT AXLE CONTROL. We have gone into the question of fitting front axle control to existing 20/25 cars to overcome the difficulty when using stiff brake drums, and send herewith N. scheme 3624. It appears to be necessary to retain the plate, but we suggest it might be modified in shape as shown. It has been necessary to set the shock damper lever, but in other respects the damper is unaltered. We notice that on J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. the triangle has been considerably stiffened up as compared with the original N. scheme. Could we be advised as to the reason for this, as our calculations seem to shew an ample margin of strength with the section shown on this drawing. [Stamp: RECEIVED] EA. | ||
