DEPARTURE FROM ROUTINE. My/G20/LS5.12.23.

With reference to the Chain we ordered from Messrs. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Davis. Owing to the delay in getting this Chain it was necessary for us to obtain an order for the O.O. to go to Messrs. Davis, collect this chain and take it from there immediately to London as it was in connection with a Car in London that we wished to make use of it. The O.O. were aware when they handed us the order that the reason we were going personally to fetch it was because we wanted to make immediate use of it.

With regard to the Instrument from the Hasler Telegraph Works. We think you must have been misinformed in this case. Attached are copies of our memos. written in connection with this matter. We should like to know in what way this departs from the routine,

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
