(15) Suspension.

This chiefly concerns shock dampers of the Gordon Armstrong type which is free from the knocks that have been troublesome on R.R. dampers in the past. It was decided whatever damper is used must be made by R.R. The difference in cost was asked for between the present system and the Gordon Armstrong. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} was to investigate this question.

It was reported that the noise with R.R. shock absorbers was not so troublesome now as it was and Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} was to enquire into the extent of complaints under this heading. He has reported that during the past six months there have been no specific complaints of knocks. There have been five cases of complaint of rattles which have been dealt with by fitting new bushes to the rear dampers. There have been three or four cases of faults in the connecting links from dampers to rear axles as distinct from faults in the dampers themselves.

(16) Exhaust.

Now that the silent exhaust at about 30 m.p.h. is an accomplished fact (as on Wraith) S. expressed the hope that a similar improvement would be effected at the earliest possible moment on the P.III and the present 25/30 HP.

(17) Strengthened Type Differential Casings.

It was reported there were still 35 cars to modify out of 57 originally sent out without these strengthened casings. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will investigate this at once with a view to the work being done as quickly as possible.

WRAITH.

This is dealt with fully in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/R5.10.37.
Points of special mention are as follow:

Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} has one of these cars of the most up-to-date type as and when available.

The valve failure experienced in France was
