17-G4 - 12-G4. BOOMS.

{ 17-G4 in standard condition.
{ 12-G4 with no torque reaction dampers or bottom rubbers of rear engine feet.

On 12-G4 the boom at 50 m.p.h. and the vibration at 40 were reduced by removing the torque reaction dampers.

When 12-G4 was hot the booms were very little better than those in 17-G4, but 17-G4 had not got the 40 m.p.h. vibration.

The overrun booms in 17-G4 included that at 35 m.p.h. in third due to exhaust which we have cured in 12-G4.

There is a carburetter roar on 17-G4. from 40 m.p.h. upwards tending to make the body boom.
