We thank you for your letter EFC4/T of the 24th inst. handed by Mr. Minchin to the writer, and are pleased to note that you are in full agreement with the various proposals for modification of the above. FA 11 Cells. The point you refer to regarding the appearance of a red stain since fitting the new wood and ebonite separators, is no cause for alarm as the red or violet coloration is harmless in character and is due to minute traces of manganese contained in the acid or derived from the packing. This manganese is converted into permanganic acid by electrolytic action when the battery is charging and is quite innocuous and will disappear in course of time as the battery is worked. Yours faithfully, For PRITCHETT & GOLD and E.P.S. Co.Ltd., J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Preston. | ||
