-2- Sft.{Mr Swift}4/B.7.11.31. ----------- With regard to the modification of the plunger as mentioned in the last paragraph of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.4/KT22.10.31., this point was raised by our own Fitting Dept. last April and the drawing has been altered for a one piece plunger. You will note that Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} starts his memo with the comment that there is an increased frame deflection with diamond engine mounting, and it is necessary to give the radiator considerably more movement than previously. We believe this statement is definitely contrary to the considered opinion of the Design Office, and we think that some observations should be made on this matter, as the question affects us more than a little in the matter of our engine alignment. As this matter is very urgent we suggest that to short circuit the delay, By/SS{S. Smith} should get in touch with Mr.Scott at once and go over all these points mentioned. We are already behind our programme in delivering the 51st on 'N' to test, and it does not seem wise to continue building this chassis unless it embodies the improved modifications that have been suggested in these two memos. Consequently, it is essential that By/SS{S. Smith} should get in touch with Mr.Scott and clear these points up without any further delay. Sft.{Mr Swift} | ||
