Contd. -4- Bnl/W22.3.20. any modification can be instructed to the works fdr incorporation at a point which will not affect production. By that time we believe that further information will be availabe, which will be sufficient to justify a decision being taken. Additional information will, we hope, avoid some of the risk attached to incorporating modificabions and will no t materially delay the work. It is pointed out that one of the alternative modification s recommended by Mr. Royce and agreed to by Mr. Johnson, i.e. the increased clearance, has already been adopted from the date at which split pistons were incorporated.
