47250 To BJ. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} R5/M22.12.26. RR. CAR APPEARANCE - RADIATORS AND BONNETS. X.7250 X.5260 A X.7260 X.5250 I am very pleased that you like the radiators with integral shutters, (someone doubted these I thought). I thought they looked better. The number plates should be below front stay so as not to make the radiator look short in height. The 20 HP. is to have vertical shutters to improve its appearance (i.e. look like a deeper radiator). No bonnets are being shortened, but we have for some time been increasing the height of the shoulder above the frame, and the width at the back, which has been a definite necessity for appearance of the whole finished car. In EAC-7 the frame is lower (but not yet correct to drg., and will be still another 1") when the general appearance of our big car will be improved, as well as its riding qualities.
