Mr. Hives. 22.9.21. While driving up St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Peters' Street Wednesday night (21st. inst), Burrows driving Goshawk 1. with Day as assistant, a man stepped directly in front of the car and to avoid a serious accident, I had to swerve from my course and in doing so, my off-side front wheel hub fouled the frame work of a Tram Car going in the same direction. No damage was done to the Tram Car, but it was some few minutes before we could get clear - off side of Goshawk 1. axle being bent back towards end of chassis. I account for this owing to the fact that we were dragged along by the Tram Car for a short distance as the Tram Car Driver and Conductor did not perceive what had happened. The above happened opposite the "White Hall". C.H.Burrows. Check No.2502. (upside down text at bottom) R.R. 235A 150 T S.H. 986. 19-2-19 (1) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 3008 | ||
