Ball Pins Without Tab Washers. When the rear spring job was being carried out, we found that the ball pin was loose on its taper in the N.S.R. shock damper arm. This is the new type without a tab washer to prevent the ball pin turning while tightening the nut. We could not tighten it again properly for this reason. Similar troubles have been experienced before with this type of ball pin. We think that the trouble in service will outweigh the cost saving of deleting the tab washer, and recommend that we adhere to the previous design. ----------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M.
