X.2048 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from EFC. EFCL/T4.8.19. X.2048 X.3362 RE BULBS FOR WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. Regarding your note R12/G1.8.19, we got the Order Office to order six 12-volt 24 c.p. lamps, but these came in as 16 c.p. being the nearest they could supply. We have these lamps here at the moment, but we did not despatch them on account of not being certain whether they would be suitable. In the meanwhile we have made enquiries and are informed that 24 c.p. lamps for 12 volts cannot be supplied, i.e. nothing between 16 and 48 c.p., which is rather surprising to us. We had intended writing you about this on Saturday only did not get the note off owing to pressure of other work. We cannot obtain half watt lamps of the c.p. you require, but the ones to which we refer are ordinary mf. lamps. There is a further defect about these lamps in that the little pins on the holders are not long enough to catch, unless they are a very good fit in the holders which is not always the case. This seems an unusual defect but nevertheless all the half dozen lamps are like this. You would possibly be able to slightly alter any loose holders to make the lamps go in all right. Shall we send along this half dozen lamps which are 12 volt 16 c.p.? EFC. | ||
