1280 19th May 1937 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.18/AP. Messrs John Marston & Co.Ltd., WOLVERHAMPTON For the attention of Mr.Dunn. Dear Sirs, We have received the Bentley radiator with dummy shutters which you sent us, but have two criticisms to make. (1) The shell has obviously been hammered and filed at the top right hand corner when fitting it to the shutters. (2) The starting handle support has been fitted so that it is impossible to get a starting handle through it, owing to its not being packed up sufficiently. We are today forwarding to you a Ph.III. radiator yoke to act as a jig for refitting top and bottom tanks to the two customers' radiators which you have at present, after you have carried out the necessary cleaning and re-opening of the waterways. As agreed in discussion with Mr.Dunn last Thursday we are having our stock of radiator matrices inspected and are returning any with faulty waterways. We should like to receive the gauge for this purpose which you promised us, as soon as possible. We are arranging to alter our radiator matrix drawings to show limits of ± .015 on overall heights and ± .025 on overall widths as arranged with you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
