re SpectreCodename for Phantom III Bodies.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E20.2.35

You will remember at our conference the other day Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} raised the question of when would the coachbuilders be prepared to accept full responsibility for a SpectreCodename for Phantom III body.

I have been talking about the matter to C. and I am writing to you because you have been dealing with SpectreCodename for Phantom III bodies, drawing up specifications, etc.

The position is that the coachbuilders are quite prepared to accept responsibility for a body as soon as they are given an order for one to be made to their own specification as distinct from our specification.

I think this is not an unreasonable view for them to take.

The body in question should of course be of the fixed head type as it would be hardly fair to expect them to accept for this purpose the most difficult type of body to build.

I should be glad to know which of the experimental bodies could be given to them on this basis.
