It is regrettable that you consider I have been an obstructionist in satisfying Mr.Pomeroy about the performance of the Bentley Car.

After it was known last week that my car was not required by a writer on "Motor Sport ?" I asked Bs.{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager} in London to send the grey car up to you in accordance with Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s. instructions, and I myself, contrary to my usual practice, waited in London to bring Mr. Pomeroy to these Works, and had hoped to let him see for himself on the way up the performance of the car, and in addition I had expected that the Grey car would have been here and might have been finished in time for Mr. Pomeroy to drive it back to London himself, thereby saving the embarrassment of a train journey in both directions. Weather conditions however, interfered with this programme.

You did not give any hint yesterday that you wanted my car, and I was under the impression that you were going to bring the Grey car up to standard, and let Mr. Pomeroy try it again.

In the meantime I was just about to leave the Works, when Whyman turned up, with a car load of people for Boscombe Down and Bristol, and naturally under the road conditions I wanted to use a car to which I am accustomed. I put myself to some personal inconvenience to help on this job, but apparently it is misunderstood.
