BP. FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to SC. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CENTRALISED CHASSIS LUBRICATION. X3806 With reference to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GY3/LG20329., we think the idea of making the cap nut of the Bijur drip plug into a reservoir is quite a good one. It appears to us however that the form of the pieces as shewn on your Z.18. and 7.20. might be improved, and we send herewith N. sch. 2863. herewith shewing a proposal for the SS.{S. Smith}, and N. sch. 2864. a proposal for the 20HP. R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggested about one cub. in. of capacity for these reservoirs, and we have adhered to that as far as possible. As we do not seem to have details or arrangement drawings whichshew us exactly what the centralised chassis lubrication is on these parts, either of the SS.{S. Smith} or the 20HP., we have maintained the proportions you suggest on the assumption that they will be clear, but perhaps Derby would confirm this. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
