(J.A.Hill), Sheffield, inviting information respecting their present position as regards the supply of moulding materials. In reply we have received a letter ref.- 62886, of 5th inst. from the Mouldensite Co., Ordnance Works, Sheffield, intimating that Mouldensite is the name by which the material Condensite is now known in this country. Following is copy of the letter:- "Will you kindly note that Mouldensite is the name "by which the material Condensite is now known in this "country. "Your letter reaches us at a time when the actual "production of Mouldensite Powder in Great Britain is "being commenced at the up-to-date Works which have been "specially erected by us for that purpose. In fact "Mouldensite Moulding Powder in all grades and in both "natural colour (brown) and black will commence output "within the next 14 days. "We are interested to learn that you already have "a Moulding Plant installed at your Works, but observe "you have been having difficulty in the production of "commutators. "Our friends, the Condensite Company of America, "make a very large output of the material for electrical "mouldings. They have made a study of this branch and "the success in America has been very gratifying inas- "much as the results are so highly satisfactory. "Since being in correspondence with you 12 months "ago, we sent one of our own Experts over to the "American Works, where for some months he had practical "experience in the methods used by the American Company "in obtaining the results they have achieved. Further "when our Representative returned he brought with him "a member of the Staff of the American Company who had "been exclusively engaged on the production of all "classes of the material for upwards of ten years. "We mention these points to assure you that the "material turned out by our new Works will be precisely "on the same footing as that which has given such "highly satisfactory results in America. "In view of the above and the difficulties you (contd) | ||
