S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1383 CWB8/GM/3-12-26. VACUUM OPERATED SERVO FOR MOTOR CAR BRAKES. attached The gentleman whose card is enclosed called at the showrooms this morning and wished to demonstrate a new Vacuum Operating Servo of his invention, which was fitted to a Buick car. He claimed many special features for this invention, amongst others, that by operating a small hand control he could so regulate the operation of the Vacuum Servo that it was controlled by the accelerator and whenever this was fully released the brakes were automatically operated. Alternatively it could be operated in the same manner as more conventional systems of Vacuum Servos. He appeared to be very keen on demonstrating this invention, but I was not free at the moment to go into it fully and can therefore give you no further information. I understand that the device is patented, but he has not provided himself with any drawings or descriptive matter relating to it as yet. If the matter is of any interest to you, he will be in London with his car for another week and would be glad to make any appointment at a day or so's notice to demonstrate his invention to anyone. I imagine that he is really in this country with a view to disposing of it, or arranging for its manufacture. Please let me know if you wish to do anything further with the matter. CWB. | ||
