450c. To Sr. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Whym. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Whym.2/BA.5.7.39. Re - "Corniche" Weight. In reply to your memo Sr/Vf.4/MLG.1.7.39, regarding the weight of the "Corniche" chassis, the car which has just gone to France, i.e. 14.B.V., has a total car weight of 34 cwt. 0 qrs. 21 lbs. Unfortunately, on this particular car the body was fitted before the chassis was complete, and we have therefore no actual figures of the chassis weight. According to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/R.30.6.39, of which memo a copy has been sent to you, the "Corniche" chassis is 32 lbs. 8 ozs lighter than the standard B.V.chassis, and 8.B.V.chassis weight was 24 cwt.0 qrs. 12 lbs, therefore, we may assume the weight of a "Corniche" chassis to be approximately 23 cwts. 3 qrs. 8 lbs. Trusting that this information is all that you need for the moment. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Whym. | ||
