To HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) (EFC) from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X 2572 E3/G4.6.21. X.4054 - 40/50 H.P. BATTERY IGNITION CONDENSER. X2512. The blue print of the condenser D.1682 has been received and Mr. Royce approves of the arrangement shown. There are two simple points, however, which Mr. Royce would like altered to avoid the danger of an unreliable earth connection from the condenser a to the casing:- 1. The piece of sheet insulation should be cut off half way down so that it does not come underneath the bottom clamp of the condenser at all. 2. A spring washer should be used under the nut for the bottom clamp as there is otherwise very little flexibility in the stud, and without the spring washer there is danger of this nut coming loose.
