currents, the reaction of the armature of the generator will cause the field magnets to weaken, and therefore the high reading would read low on the voltmeter. In other words, if it were correct at 1000 revolutions, it might be correct at 2,000 revolutions. By using a certain amount of resistance in the circuit, the voltage of the magneto could be adjusted correctly for each speed, and if the current were known, by taking the ohmic resistance of the voltmeter and the potential required for the indication, then one could find the percentage of error in the pair of instruments, and also whether the error was in the generator or the voltmeter.

When you have done this, I should like the generator sent to me, to see whether it is of reasonable weight and size.
