S & W Ax. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to J.v.o. Copy to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} COPY. F.R. Re Rudge-Whitworth Detachable Wheels. X. 421. With reference to X.421, Rudge Whitworth Detachable Wheels, we ought to get a set of the most recent pattern to see the relative weight compared with the Dunlop, and secondly whether the automatic locking nut acts satisfactor-ily with our weight of car. This should be tested on a heavy closed body. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Since writing the above I have received the relative weight which are slightly in favour of Dunlops. FHR The test on a heavy body might go ahead. I think, Platford say if threads thoroughly well tighten with mallet. R.W. are good on L.G cars but they will not tighten themselves. FHR | ||
