sufficient first class men. They simply do not exist, and the only thing we can hope to do is to train men who will develop into the right type. We think that if there is one first class man on the car he can do the high speed stuff and when the assistent is driving he should see that he drives safely.

I am thinking of coming over to Chateauroux in a week or ten days time so as to have a run round on Bensport. The position at the moment is that the Bensport should have preference over the Peregrine. It has been agreed, owing to the fact that the Works are already full up with work that we cannot possibly introduce two new cars this year and the car which is going to be pushed ahead is the Bensport in preference to Peregrine. This does not mean any hold-up on the Peregrine, we want to go forward and have it ready. The Bensport has the advantage that the engine unit and gearbox on there has had about six or eight years development so that it should be the first to be adopted.
