Contact Breaker.

If the current is not broken when the engine is turned, it is because the contact points are not opening. Check the following points:-

Whether the contact breaker points have lost their clearance on account of wear or breakage of the fibre block.

Any mechanic, electrician, or even a watch-maker could make a new block of fibre if the necessary thickness was available, or even hard wood.
