contd :- -2- omitted lagging the top half of the front portion. It should be remembered that the adoption of this heat shield does not delete instructions circulated to coachbuilders concerning the fitting of sheet asbestos on the under-side of floorboards, and gas-tight floorboard joints etc. These precautions are still necessary. We can see nothing that is likely to give trouble during a 10,000 miles test - the possibilities of damage to the shield by stones are remote, as it is protected by the silencer itself and the under-side of the shield is in steel. It would not seem necessary to wait for a 10,000 miles test before standardisation. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.J.Lidsey. | ||
