Petrol flow tests:-

Fine gauze passes 1 pt in 8 secs.
Coarse " " 1 " " 7 "

The 1 pt in 8 secs. equals 450 pts per hr.

The requirements of the P.III engine is (max) 120 pts per hr.

Test Bed Results.

The fine filter gauze was blocked three quarters of its area before any noticeable falling off in power. It is, therefore, quite practicable to use the fine gauze filter for the P.III which, in our opinion, will prevent the flooding of the carburetters which has taken place.
