Test and observation schedule for the running-in of the Wraith III No. 7 Unit.

WRAITH III NO. 7 UNIT.

This new unit is representative of the first 6 cars to be made.

During the running in, which should be carried out with P.4 and hard oil mixture observe the following -

(a) Lubrication to push rods and rocker ends.
(b) Rotation of tappets and inspection after short period of running.
(c) Tappet noise with a cold setting of .006.
(d) Oil pressures, main and rocker with new relief valve.
(e) Timing gears for noise.

Following running in take

(f) Power curve open exhaust and with Wraith Silencer.
(g) Run 1 hour oil consumption test at 4000 RPM. and repeat.
(h) Note whether any oil leak into clutch pit during consumption runs.
(i) Check valve bounce speed with Wraith silencer fitted.
(j) Check slow running.
(k) Disconnect test bed oiling system, cooler and filter and connect up as for chassis in which condition, note,

The functioning of the bye-pass filter, lubrication to rockers and main pressures when hot and idling.

With oil temperature say at 25°C, 50°C and 100°C what speeds do timing gears receive oil.
