LARGER OIL PUMPS FOR CARS IN FRANCE.

You will remember at the last chassis Conference that the Administration agreed to fit larger oil pumps and RR.56 big ends to all the 4 1/4-litre Bentleys in France in addition to the modifications recommended on the Depot Sheets for English cars; this means that about 30 larger oil pumps will be required. It is, of course, no good sending the oil pumps without the bearings.

Out of these 30 cars, there are about one dozen which we believe represent the high spot of this bearing trouble, as they have all done over 10,000 miles, and if we do not get them modified shortly we can expect to have some connecting rods through the side of the crankcase. The others will have to take their turn.

Anything you can do to help deal with the dozen cars in question will be appreciated.
