STANDARD IGNITION COIL D.72503 WITH INCREASED TURNS ON THE SECONDARY WINDING. Confirming our conversation regarding the secondary insulation of the above coil, we should be glad if you will arrange for instructions to be issued to production for a double thickness of insulation to be put between the top (outside) layer of the secondary and the bottom layer (next to the primary winding). It is at this point where the known high voltage surges occur which contribute to the usual breakdown at this point and as this coil will occasionally have to deal with higher voltages than the old 18,000 turn coil, it will be wise policy to reinforce the insulation at this point.
