Tachbrook Rd.,
Leamington Spa.

For the attention of Mr. Barker.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of the two special driven plates fitted with slingers, for which we thank you. We notice, however, that the rivet heads are of the original size and should appreciate your comments on this point.

We have at present a Bentley fitted with a 10A3 clutch undergoing trials, and the tester reports slight occasional clutch jaggers. We wish to try a driven plate with an oil slinger and moulded friction material in this car and are accordingly returning to you the 10" plate for you to change the facings. An official order follows.

May we please have the comparative friction characteristics for the woven and moulded materials, so that in the event of our wishing to change to the latter on the production 10" clutches, we shall know whether or not to expect an increased tendency to slip.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
