-2- I Observed that when driving the car at 130 K.P.H. that there was a shortage of petrol due to the pump being sluggish on one side. I examined the pump and cleaned the contacts etc.. The owner complained about the suspension, I examined the govenor unit of the ride control and found same almost empty, there was also a shortage of oil in one of the front hydraulic dampers. I examined the brake system externally and carried out all necessary adjustments and generally looked over the chassis. There are reactions from the steering due to there being insufficient poundage on the ball ends of the cross steering tube an, the ends of the cross steering tube will to be modified as per latest practice so as to increase the load on the ball ends. The owner will be coming to Paris with his car in about 15 days time. I instructed the driver in the upkeep of the car I find the driver to be a very good man and he gave me every assistance. Sir Pomeroy Burton did not appear to be upset owing to his car having had to be out of service for the work which I carried out. F.{Mr Friese} LANGERON 17.7.37. | ||
