COPY TO SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BODIES. B.4.

The last that we heard from you as to when you would be ready for another body for Bensport was to the effect that a chassis would be ready by the middle of March. We set out to build a Sports Saloon by that date but due to the necessity of entirely redesigning the body at W.W. before the coach-builder could start, and also the frequent holdups on account of changes in the chassis, we cannot hope to be ready with the body.

We would like to hear from you now whether you will have a chassis by say March 15th. and if not at what date do you expect to have it ready. This will enable us to decide whether we shall pay for overtime to be worked.

We would also like to hear whether you would agree to mount the open body next so as to give us a longer time on the saloon. We have instructed Messrs Park Ward & Co. to go ahead and modify this body up to suit the B.4. chassis, and it will be available by that date. By April, when the car would be on the road we should think that the weather would be fit for a car of that type.

The recent decision that it is essential to allow for the full metal to metal bump which we have only just heard of will cause a further delay.
