when dismantling clutch, and in this connection we think that if it has not already been done some note should be put in the instruction book pointing out the use of the clutch disc retainers in dismantling clutch, and the further obvious necessity of leaving the springs units screwed home in position before dismantling.

Two .312 tapped holes are provided in the flywheel disc should it be found convenient to press home the ferodo carrier plate while fixing its stops in position.

We would ask you to try experimentally on any EAC. clutch the effect of using a cage for the declutch-ing thrust bearing, to ascertain if there is less noise when the balls are confined in one.

We note that on G.72611. the ferodo carrier plate clamps are arranged with the hole for tab washer G.70631. on the inside rather than on the outside, as was called for on LeC. 1683. We arranged the hole as was shewn so that the locking tabs would come on the inside which we thought would facilitate their being bent up for locking purposes.
