To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY/RD. X8664 EFH/T23.6.28. X5663 We are constantly receiving enquiries for higher output dynamos for customers, some of which we have met partially by machines which have polepieces tapered off for rather higher output at the higher speeds. The fundamental cure for the high speed overcharging complaints consists however in the special higher output armatures which you are producing for us, both for the 40/50 and the 20 H.P. It transpires that the 40/50 H.P. case is now the more urgent and I should be pleased if you would urge this with a view to letting us have this machine at the earliest possible moment so that we can pass its output curve and satisfy the Production Dept. that these can be put on production. We suggest to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that in view of the extremely likelihood of these armatures being satisfactory, we might if he thinks fit have a number of these instructed so that we shall have a few machines ready for customers as early as possible. If BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} considers it feasible to do this it might be worth while to cancel, or at any rate to hold up in abeyance, our standard instruction for the modification of the poles of the N.B. dynamos for a higher output of the existing armature. It will be appreciated that the point is that we have now a growing number of customers demanding machines of higher output at the higher speeds. EFC. | ||
