1139 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}20/JH. 2nd. February, 1939. Mr. T. Worth, British Filters Ltd., Aircraft House, Market Harborough, Dear Sirs, Regarding the 12 filters which you have returned after correction, following the original complaint at the Works we had the opportunity of looking at one and are still disappointed in the enamel finish of the case (external) The surface is still rough and uneven and not up to our usual R.R. standard of finish. We note also that the lid{A. J. Lidsey} transfer is still red lettering and not black and white as agreed upon. Regarding the first British made filter cartridge we are under the impression from the road test that it was not up to the American (5) cartridges and would like you to send us an American and a British made cartridge for our rig test. Possibly you have already taken comparisons and we should be pleased to hear the result. The tests on the Fram filter have been completed and the case is now available for you to borrow as previously arranged which you can collect on your next visit to us. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
