ORIGINAL TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} R2/MS. 12. 24. 4. GOSHAWK 2. X3597 X4219 X.4286 This car (which is now at WW.) requires the starter motor pinion changing to the RR. pattern Bijur. The thud and noise of this American type Bijur is a disgrace to RR. reputation. The back axle on this car is I believe one of the old ones and is not at all silent, which I previously suggested might be due to the pinion teeth being rolled over and on the point of failure. The car otherwise is quite fast, very useful, and very silent. [Stamp] RECEIVED R.{Sir Henry Royce} 13 DEC 1924 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [/Stamp] | ||
