Handwritten Top: A.H. Would you please let me have your remarks. Nor. 25/1/29. X5230. Typed: M-N (Strikethrough) Nor. Br2/A.{Mr Adams} 24.1.29 Technical - Exhaust blows on 20 H.P. Chassis ---------------------------------------- We get a tremendous number of 20 H.P. cars in with complaints of exhaust blows from manifold joints and unions. We have formed an opinion that this trouble is mainly due to the tremendous back pressure which sets up in the silencer when the engine is being run at high speed. The trouble is most common on cars which we know are used for high speed work. I am wondering whether this point should be considered by the Designing Department with a view to obviating the trouble. We would suggest that it would be an advantage to fit a larger snout to the extension pipe. I presume you would like to take this up with the Department concerned at "W". Handwritten Bottom: Mr. Do you experience any trouble in this connection, please B/Caf Br2/A a production Test - BD{Mr Berend} Test MP We do not have any trouble but trouble occurs on 10,000 miles Stamp: RECEIVED 26 JAN 1929 | ||
