Referring to BYG/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 5.3.25. will you kindly note that the above memo defining what the material for "F" Series was going to be, is replaced by the present one. The object of the replacement being to cut out certain changes which by the previous memo would have been introduced between "F" and "G" Series. "G" Series material should now be precisely the same as the 170 "India" which we are working upon. It should be noted that the large cross members which we propose to introduce are now cancelled and that the changes in the gear box, likewise go out. The only differences between the material which has been definitely ordered for "India" and the further 200 sets for "G" Series being:- 1. That we shall not fit footbrake equaliser for the rear brakes at present, as we anticipate the servo type of equaliser ordered up on the 200 sets for the FWB. being utilised. 2. The speedometer drive in the gear box, should, for the present, be omitted. Here again I expect to utilise the type produced with the servo for 200 sets of FWB. 3. Front wheel Hubs suitable for FWB's will be fitted, of the wire wheel type. No steel wheels need be ordered or fixed hubs for same, at present. 4. Rear Hub. The new type hub similar to the front should be ordered up, in place of the standard wire wheel hub. 5. The frame should be of the new type with the joggle set 1" further back. This has been instructed up and will not affect the issue. No dumb irons need be ordered as we shall depend upon the FWB. dumb iron, of which 200 s ets have been instructed. Contd. | ||
