Please quote our reference: E.2. 30th July 1936. Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd. Derby. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. West. Re: Single Wire Petrol Gauge. We beg to advise you that we are despatching under separate cover an experimental single wire petrol gauge which has been made up for your 20/25 HP model. The tank unit is a modified 3-wire type and actually there would not be any saving in the cost of this unit. This however, has been made so that you can test it out in one of your standard tanks. The Meter is a single wire type and is cheaper than the standard three- wire type. At this stage we would like to point out that we cannot obtain with this type of instrument, the same degree of accuracy which can be obtained from the three-wire type. We shall be glad however, if you will let us have your comments on the single wire type after you have had an opportunity of testing it out. Awaiting your further comments which will receive our best attention. Yours faithfully, for S: SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. A.S. Powell ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
